Our Himalayan Bath Salt is from the foothills of the Himalayas and is mined from ancient pure crystal salt deposits formed through huge amounts of pressure over millions of years. The way that the crystals were produced has left them untouched by modern pollutants and toxins.
With their delicate shade of pink, Himalayan Bath Salt is one of the prettiest ingredients to stock our shelves, packed with nutrients and trace minerals.
These rose-coloured salts hail from the foothills of the Himalayas and are millions of years old (a staggering 250 million) and are renowned for being pure, since they’re untouched by toxins.
Although some crystals are slightly darker than others and some can actually be snow white in colour, it’s the small amounts of iron oxide which lend them their typical soft pink colour. Known in the Himalayas as “white gold,” these amazing little crystals contain numerous natural minerals and elements, which are each found in the human body.
Himalayan salt began life as a crystallised sea salt bed, lying within the Himalayan Mountains. Covered in lava and placed under huge tectonic pressure, this was as pure an environment as the salts could find. In fact, there was little exposure to toxins and impurities and no modern-day pollution to spoil the purity of these small crystals.
Slowly, the plates of the earth moved around these salts, while the sea around them evaporated, leaving all of its wonderful minerals to crystallise beneath the warmth of the sun.
Nowadays, these salts will often be hand-harvested, before making their way into homes, supermarkets and health food stores around the world.
