Our Coconut Milk is made from 99.9% coconut, making it different to other plant-based milk alternatives.
Check the ingredients on others and you’ll see that they’re made with regular water and often include rice and fillers. Compare this to our Coconut Milk which is 90.5% coconut water, 9.4% coconut cream and 0.1% xanthan gum (needed to stop the milk from separating).
Like our Coconut Oil and Creamed Coconut, our Organic Coconut Milk is a UK #1 Best Buy for non-dairy milk, as voted by the leading ethical magazine, Ethical Consumer.
Coconut Milk is available in the Lucy Bee Shop and most Asda stores.
Our Coconut Milk has a deliciously delicate coconut flavour, with a velvety smooth texture, much like dairy milk.
The great thing about our Coconut Milk is that it’s a plant-based alternative to milk, suitable for vegans and anyone who is avoiding dairy or lactose.
Its rich texture makes it ideal to use in place of milk:
When using as a drink, we recommend serving it chilled and once opened, store in the fridge and use within 3 days. It’s not suitable for freezing.
These are slightly different products. Tinned coconut milk is usually a 50/50 split of regular water and coconut (sometimes coconut extract), and usually includes emulsifiers and stabilisers. Tinned coconut milk is usually used for cooking only, eg. curries.
Lucy Bee Coconut Milk is 90.5% coconut water and 9.4% creamed coconut, with 0.1% xanthan gum. It is more of a milk that you drink, add to smoothies, porridge, cereals and use in baking and sauces. It is still good to use in cooking and is a lighter version ie with less fat.
The difference is that you usually wouldn’t drink a tin of coconut milk, whereas ours is intended to be enjoyed as a drink alternative, as well as cooking.
Our Coconut Milk is from the Philippines and is certified Fair Trade by Fair Trade Sustainability Alliance (FairTSA). This means:
